One of Italy’s most elegant ski resorts is preparing for a major upgrade.
For the 2026/27 winter season, Courmayeur will introduce two brand-new 10-person gondolas, replacing older lifts and significantly improving the experience for thousands of skiers every day.

Which Lifts Are Being Replaced?
The project includes the replacement of two well-known lifts :
Chécrouit Gondola
The existing six-person gondola serving the Chécrouit area will be replaced by a modern 10-person LEITNER gondola.
The new lift will increase hourly capacity while providing a faster and far more comfortable ride.
For visitors arriving in the morning, this means shorter queues and quicker access to one of Courmayeur’s main skiing areas.
Maison Vieille Gondola
The historic two-person chairlift leading towards Maison Vieille will also disappear.
In its place will arrive another 10-person gondola, offering enclosed cabins, protection from wind and snow, improved accessibility for families and beginners, and a significant reduction in travel time.
This is one of the upgrades many regular visitors have been hoping for over the last few years.
